Terms of Use

NextField is in soft beta. These terms are short on purpose.

1. Planning aid, not a briefing

NextField gathers airport, runway, frequency, procedure, weather and place information from public and community sources. It can be incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong. Nothing in NextField is an official weather briefing, a notice, a chart, or a go/no-go decision. Before every flight you must get an official briefing and verify the current weather, runway lengths and conditions, published approaches and their minimums, and active NOTAMs for your aircraft and route. You are solely responsible for the decision to fly.

Get your official briefing from 1800wxbrief.com or another official source, and check current charts and NOTAMs. NextField is the thing you use to decide where you might want to go, not the thing you use to decide whether you can get there.

2. No warranty, and no liability for a flight

The app is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. Information can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and can be withdrawn at any time. To the fullest extent the law allows, NextField and the people who run it are not responsible for losses, damage, injury, death, delay, diversion, cancelled trips, fines or any other consequence of using it or relying on it — including anything you or your passengers do or do not do on the strength of something you read here. Deciding to fly is yours alone.

3. Community information is unverified

Reviews, fuel prices, event listings, discussion posts, photos and reported changes come from pilots, not from us. They may be mistaken, out of date or deliberately wrong. Where the app shows something as confirmed, that means a moderator looked at it — not that it is guaranteed. Treat it as one pilot's note, not an official source.

4. Your account

  • Accounts are free. You need a working email address; a display name is yours to choose.
  • Keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think somebody else has it.
  • When you create an account you confirm you understand the planning-only limitation in section 1, and we record that confirmation.
  • We may suspend an account that is clearly being abused — for example a script hammering the copilot, somebody posting abuse, or attempts to break the app. We will tell you why.

5. Acceptable use

  • Don't post anything unlawful, threatening, or somebody else's private information.
  • Don't scrape the app, resell its data, or pretend community data is official.
  • Don't use the copilot or search to attack the app or to spend other people's money.

6. What you post, and who owns it

You keep what you write and photograph. You give NextField permission to display it in the app, and to keep a copy so the community can use it. If you delete your account, we remove what is attached to it.

7. Beta, and changes

Features appear and disappear while NextField is in beta, and the app may be unavailable without notice. These terms may change; the version on this page is the one in force when you use the app.
